Advanced Selection Process

Our Global Reach




Recruiting is a competitive strategy, requiring a disciplined, systematic selection process. The Day & Associates’ approach is built on the Six Sigma model, which provides clients with a clear, surprise-free roadmap to assess progress and keeps the focus on quality, data, and measurable results. It proceeds in five phases:

  1. Design – Develop clear, written search goals. Select the search committee. Delineate roles and responsibilities. Develop the “musts and wants” criteria for candidate selection. Identify preferred targets of opportunity.

  2. Measure – Put in place agreed-upon, measurable success criteria for the search, including specific time lines, number of candidates presented, and ongoing reporting process.

  3. Research/Analyze – Source the search, primarily through a circle-of-influence strategy that begins with tapping personal networks and our proprietary database. Screen candidates through a process of document review and in-depth telephone and face-to-face interviews. Preliminary background checking. Written analysis of research conclusions.

  4. Implement – Brief client on pool of selected candidates – strengths, weaknesses, potential problems/opportunities. Reference and due diligence candidate vetting. Selection. Offer-execution.

  5. Manage – Assist in onboarding. Initial client/new-hire debrief.
    3-, 6-, and 12-month debrief/progress review and feedback. Client and candidate satisfaction survey.
